Art in STEM competition 2019

Create an original piece of art or original graphic picture that involves the cardiovascular system (the cardiovascular system includes the heart, with its intricate conduits (arteries, veins, and capillaries) that traverse the whole human body carrying blood.). This event is to encourage the use of Art in STEM. Scientific representations are encouraged but fun and beautiful are also rewarded. The heART. Deadline for submissions is Thursday, January 31st at 4pm. 

You must be a current student in good standing at East Grand Rapids High or Middle School. Categories will be Scientific, Stunning, and Whimsical. The prize for Scientific is $50 and for Stunning and Whimsical is $25 each. You understand by entering this competition that your art work may be used in part or in whole as publicity and fundraising for EGR Science Olympiad. Students who submit artwork will be recognized on our website, Facebook page, Twitter, Instagram and the announcements at school. The artwork will be displayed on the web.

We would love for you to use proper anatomical and scientific representations that may help us learn what will be tested at the Science Olympiad Anatomy competitions. An Informational handout will be available soon on the website https://www.soinc.org/anatomy-and-physiology-c

The Kent County Medical Examiner Stephen Cohle came to speak to us on Forensic Pathology on Thursday Oct 19th, 2017 after school in the Learning Common's Conference room.

We had our Fundraiser Wednesday Sept. 27th, 2017 and had a great time watching the moving and having a scienc quiz with prizes.
